In order to take a screenshot of the maps in Community Insight, you can use the Display Mode to see your map full-screen with all the screen furniture removed.
Please note that there is no inbuilt screenshot tool within Community Insight. To create these images, we recommend that you use Snipping Tool (or Grab if you are a Mac user).
Who can use this functionality?
Any user of Community Insight, whether you are a View Reports User, Power User or Group Admin can benefit from the Display Mode functionality.
How to use the Display Mode
When you navigate to the Maps page, you will see a Display button in the top right of the page. Clicking on this will remove all screen furniture so that you can see the map in full.
Any area or stock icons that you have loaded on the screen before pressing the Display button will be shown when viewing in Display Mode.
You can still interact with the screen, so you can zoom in or zoom out and position the image exactly as you like.
From here, you can now take your screenshot, either using Print Screen or the Snipping Tool.
How to exit Display Mode
To return to view maps as normal hit Escape on your keyboard.
Enter Display Mode and 'full screen' mode
Entering Display Mode allows the map to be full screen in the current browser tab. If you would like the browser tab to be full screen in your window, you will need to:
- Hit F11 to enter the browser's 'full screen' mode
- Enter Display Mode
Once you have finished, you can exit display mode as normal by pressing escape, and then exit the browser's 'full screen' mode by pressing F11 again.
Enter Display Mode with data on the map
If you want to take a screenshot of the map with a dataset overlaid, simply select a dataset from the Data icon and then hit the Display button.
The legend will be displayed on the map in the top right-hand corner and all the remaining screen furniture will be removed.
