My custom datasets are not showing data for some of my stock groups?

There are two reasons why a custom dataset may not show data for some of your stock groups?

  • You have not uploaded any data for the geographical areas which make up your stock groups
  • The stock groups showing no data were created after you uploaded the data

You have not uploaded any data for the geographical areas which make up your stock group

Data will only show, on the maps and for stock groups, in the geographical regions which were included in the upload. For example, if you upload data for 100 LSOA in Brighton, any stock groups you have which are not situated in Brighton will not have any data.

When you upload your own custom datasets to Community Insight we aggregate the data to LSOA, MSOA and LA level to present on the maps as well as aggregating to existing stock groups. For confidentiality reasons, we do not store the raw data that you upload. As a consequence, any stock groups you create after your custom data upload will not show any data.

To resolve this, all you need to do is re-upload the custom dataset. When you re-upload, Community Insight will aggregate the data for all your new stock groups. To do this follow the steps in this article.
